Start with Quality Grass‑Fed Beef

Cooking the perfect steak doesn’t have to be complicated. With the right cut, proper heat, and a few simple techniques, you can achieve a beautifully caramelised crust and a tender, juicy centre every time. Follow our step‑by‑step guide and cook your steak with confidence.

How to Cook the Perfect Steak

Bring your steak to room temperature before cooking. Heat a pan or BBQ until hot and lightly rub oil directly onto the steak. Season generously with your favourite seasoning.

For a 2cm-thick steak:
• Rare: 2–3 minutes each side
• Medium: 4 minutes each side
• Well-done: 5–6 minutes each side

Turn only when a dark brown, caramelised crust has formed underneath.

Resist the urge to poke, prod or constantly flip your steak, this damages the meat fibres and lets precious moisture escape. Use tongs for best results.

Once cooked, rest your steak for 10 minutes before slicing or serving.
